Frequently asked questions
Are cinnamon roasted sweet potatoes healthy?
They can be. Sweet potatoes bring fiber and vitamin A, and this recipe uses one tablespoon of maple for the whole pan instead of a sugary syrup.
What is the difference between yams and sweet potatoes?
Most orange “yams” in US grocery stores are actually sweet potatoes. True yams have rough, bark-like skin and starchy white flesh.
Should I peel sweet potatoes before roasting?
You don’t have to. The skin roasts up tender and adds a little extra fiber. Just scrub it well.
